For the last few days I have noticed that Downieville Fire Dispatch 154.965 is dispatching not only for Downieville but for Sierra City VFD. Database shows Sierra City Fire having a seperate dispatch freq of 154.1075. Have they merged/consolidated duties?

I haven’t dedicate too much time to listening to them, but that Downieville FD repeater is very high powered and strong, even down here in Sacramento. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re dispatching for all or most of the county.

I monitor all the Sierra County frequencies from Sacramento with no problems. However, I don't know the answer to the OP's question.

I'm in Roseville and have all FD frequencies in scan list but only have had luck receiving Downieville 154.965 131.8. I have just noticed that Sierra City fire & Downieville have frequently been on the same channel. Fire units from I believe 7300's (Downieville) and 7900's (Sierra city) leading me to believe that multiple agencies are using the channel. Are you receiving any traffic on 154.1075 131.8, 158.805 123.0, or 154.385, or 154.385 94.8?

I have found a document that is from 2014 that states ambulace services for Sierra City are provided by Downieville Fire.

In regards to the overall thread, from my observations, Downieville FPD is dispatching for most if not all the west side districts, and I'm going to assume the Sierra County FPD frequency is dispatching for all the east side districts.

I have to agree with Downieville being the West side dispatcher. I’ll be in the Sierra City camping in a couple weeks and I’ll report back what else I hear from other database entries.

Spent the weekend in Sierra City and was able to gather only a little information. I can confirm that Downieville 154.965 131.8 dispatches for Downieville and Sierra City Fire. It appears that the frequency above as well as Sierra City 154.1075 131.8 and 153.830 are all tied together. Signal strength dependent on location of what frequency being monitored. Did not hear any calls for service in the Pike/ Alleghany areas when I was monitoring, but Downieville Fire will do staffing in the am for their agencies on 154.965 131.8 again making me believe they dispatch for them as well. Additionally Sheriff 153.785 173.8 is current and active as well although signal strength varied time to time.

Alright I've added a DB note that Downieville, Sierra City, Pike City, and Alleghany Fire Dispatch channels are all patched together.

Can anyone advise what they're hearing on 153.875? It's currently listed as Downieville VFD Tac, as well as the input for the Pike City VFD repeater.

It's somewhat "normal" to use a frequency for dual purposes like that. As a TAC it would be low(er) power and often use a different CT/DC as the repeater input.
