I studied the previous pool of questions last month but was unaware that the test was going to be change after July 1st. I have heard rumors that it is a lot tougher than the previous one, and has diagrams as well. If this is true, how much harder is it compared to the previous? All of the practice tests that I have found are for the last question pool. Does anyone know where I can find a study guide or practice tests for the new question pool? I found the entire question pool on one website, but a study guide or practice test would be much more helpful. Thanks.

IIRC the diagrams are simple schematics asking you to identify a part

I say that learning the theory behind the technician license is far better than memorizing a bunch of questions and answers... Easier too.

I think the easiest is to get the ARRL manual, it's easy, just study it for 1-2 hrs a day for a week or so and you'll be fine.

I looked at the practice test and most of what you have to do with the figures is identify a component (inductor, transformer, potentiometer, etc), and the questions themselves are still easy, just basic theory.

And yes, it's more fun, and easier, to actually know the stuff instead of memorizing the entire pool of questions.

Test and guides

You might want to try the test on QRZ.com. The best thing to do is get the latest study material from the ARRL for the license you are going for. That way you are studying the right stuff. Keep going over the stuff in the book. It will become almost second nature and the stuff on the test will pop right out at you.
