i believe a Signal 2 is the term used to close the air for emergency traffic only. i.e. an officer is in a high risk situation and needs the air closed for any potential emergency use by the officer(s) in that situation.

That makes sense. Now that you say that they were talking about not having enough channels and they were bouncing people off the common law channel at the time.

Docster is correct.

Signal 2 in Wash. Co means the channel is closed except for the unit(s) on a specific incident.
(ie. dog track, foot/veh. pursuit, fight, code 3 cover etc etc)

On friday night, they had a Signal 2 on SO 1, SO 2, AND Common Law - for 3 seperate incidents. That was the first time I had heard THREE signal 2's at once !!!

So yea, I could see how they would be looking for what channel to dispatch any remaining units from.

well, on SO 1 they had a kidnapp that had just occured

on SO 2 they had a foot pursuit from a hit and run

and I dont know what they had on Common Law
