Have u checked the signal bar codes. Go to PGM - FUNC -F3. scroll to RSSI. Bar 1 190. Bar 2 - 230 Bar 3 - 260 Bar 4 - 290 and Bar 5 - 320. Sometimes the RSSI will change with different programming methods. I had this problem. Changed RSSI back to original codes and all was well.

ARC500 and Win500 allow you to set the RSSI levels. Once you set the levels in the software and save the file, they will be the same anytime you program the scanner.
