signal meter on 96 and 97

when does the signal meter come on on the 96 or the 97 ive never seen them do i have to turn somthing else on for it to work i have both and never seen nothing

There is no signal meter on a PRO96, but if you hit MAN on a control channel it will give you the % decode on it. That is not a signal meter, but tells you how much of the control channel message it can decode.
