Hello all
I've noticed on more than one post that people are reporting that their 164 has a signal strenght meter.
I have recently added a 164 to my collection but, it only has a open squelch indicator that at first I mistook for a signal strenght meter. Is there a mod for this radio that actually makes the display show relative signal strenght or an option in the menu? Just wondering?
Thanks
Skidplate.

I have both the Pro-163 and 164,,At the top there is a "S'' and small dashes to the right side of it, Similar to that of a cell phone. That is the signal strength indicator.

I see those dashes you mention however, on my radio if I open the squelch whether there is a signal present or not, all the little bars light full scale. It doesn't tell me how strong the signal is, only that the squelch has been opened. All signals are full scale. Do you ever have just one or two of the bars light up on a signal?

Yes, if i get a weaker signal, I only have 1 or 2 bars, if its a fairly strong signal i get 3 or 4 bars..thats the way mines always worked.
