Signal Stalker Function on Radio Shack Scanners

I am just curious if anyone has used the signal stalker option on r.s. scanners and found it reliable in capturing unknown frequencies from portables and such. Does it get a lot of inteference and detect intermod rf? Does it detect at a good range?

If anyone is interested in a small example of how powerful the combination of instant CTCSS decode and the Close Call features in the BC246T are, take a look at Summit County, Utah. From a blank slate to all that stuff after about two hours yesterday making my way around a small resort town with the 246. Man does Close Call work well in relatively secluded low-RF areas like Park City.

I have a pro-97. The systems I listen to are all trunk systems, therefore the SS doesn't get used much. When I travel into unchartered territory it's kind of fun to throw it on but it will pick up anything on a frequency so you get control channels, digital blurps, & all the other garbage. It seems to be not much more than a fast way to scan a bunch of conventional frequencies. If anyone else out there knows of interesting things to do with it, I'm interested too.

I have the BC92XLT and I love the close call capture feature (same as RS SS Feature) I have used it around town here when I first got it, going through malls, around places that. I have found it very handy and non-annoying. The 92 has a pager screen feature which I'm not sure if the RS has? I specifically bought this radio for that feature.
