Curt was one of the folks that got me into the radio hobby many many years ago in the late 80s/early 90s and I would not be where I am today in my career without his guidance and invitation to join the "Tarheel Scanner/Shortwave Group" which he founded. Deeply saddened to hear about his passing though I am eternally grateful for his many years of friendship. You are missed Curt.

Curt was very active in RARS and in our Tar Heel Scanner/SWL SIG group. In RARS, he was a team lead for field day and always volunteered in RARSfest each year.

I spoke to him a little over a month ago, and he was still planning on getting his radio room set up for ham radio, SWLing, and scanning. I and a couple of other guys in the SIG offered to help him move equipment to his radio room, but he had plans on painting it first, so we didn't get a chance to help.

His enthusiasm for everything radio was always with him. I now wish that I had taken the trip down to Smithfield to see him in person. Curt will be missed.

Curt was a great guy, he also got me into the group in the 1990s. He gave so much to the group, especially in the early years. I would be at his service tomorrow, but my mom's graveside service is also tomorrow. RIP Curt!
