Simi PD hearing less and less

Is it me or are we hearing less and less of Simi PD? Keep seeing the dreaded ENC on my 436hp.

Yup more and more units are either flipping the toggle to ENC or they are slowly migrating their mobiles and portables to be locked down. It does not surprise me.

Yes, I'm seeing the same thing. I think that the officers flip the DES switch and forget to change it back to clear. I think they are using DES-OFB. I have also noticed that dispatch is on and off encrypted. It seems that a certain console is fulltime encrypted and the others are selectable.
