A Mass Casualty Incident occurred at Rancho Santa Susana Park when an apparent fireworks explosion injured an estimated 20 people. VCFD has 23 units enroute. (fireline web page) VCFD CMD2 (155.985) has been discussing the bomb squad, who won't be able to do anything until CAL-OSHA has checked the scene.

I'm a couple of miles from the scene and not hearing much from SVPD or VCFD.

I'm curious if our Db correct for Simi Valley?

I note we have many UHF frequencies listed for it, but majority don't have any PL/DPL/NAC info. Are they correct and active?

Also what about the depreciated VHF stuff. Is it time to delete those, if they are indeed depreciated from use?

If you have access, the incident begins on the Broadcastify feed archive for Ventura County FD at about 21:20 and goes almost non-stop for at least 90 minutes. Very busy but overall well-organized and professionally handled. Not sure which channels are on there, but it didn't seem like I was missing anything.

I did notice a somewhat large number of listeners indicated for the Ventura City PD feed at the time, but what they were hearing or trying to hear I have no idea.

I don't specifically recall hearing SVPD during the incident, but since they are mostly encrypted I didn't expect to. Not having my scanner with me at the time, I had to rely on the channels programmed into the VCFD feed, which was more than enough.

So whether SVPD went into the clear for interop purposes, I don't know. They bounce around between clear and ENC pretty regularly as it is.

Encrypted ?

They are P25, but I never noted them being encrypted.

I just gave them a listen, and they are clear on the dispatch channel 453.925.
Cant speak for the Tacs, as I don't recall ever listening to those however.

I'm still curious however as to the validity of the frequencies listed in the Db since we are missing NAC/PL/DPL info.

Simi Valley does encrypt their signals every now and then, not too often but it happens. And their P25 Tac channel works fine but its very low powered.

Just to clarify.. when encrypted is usually from officer's radio.. and dispatch replies unencrypted. Just happened a few minutes ago.

Any one have the P25 NAC's for he Tac's? We dont show any in the Db
482.4125
482.6125
453.3500

We also show local government P25 on 482.2125 without a NAC.

Be great to get the Db updated.

Thanks

There was a hit and run just a while ago in Simi and was able to get the following NAC using my Pro-106:

482.4125 NAC 087
482.6125 NAC 087

Nothing yet on 453.350 or 482.2125

I think for NAC 087 is the ICIS system - 482.4125 and .6125 are one of its sites. (so is 482.2125 also)
