during encryption a NAC is not transmitted so it wont decode on your scanner if its NAC capable.
That's... completely wrong. NACs are part of P25 at a fundamental level, and encryption only changes the encapsulated data (voice or packet data) and the algorithm ID flag (which, if isn't set to Clear (0x80), the scanner displays ENC and should mute the audio). NACs are present on all P25 signals, and all P25-capable scanners support NACs.

482.4125mhz is very low powered compared to Channel 1 - 453.925mhz.
Barely comes in using outdoor antenna and not with BNC rubber antenna from SFV

I did not scan 482.4125 when I was at the HAT yesterday, just the main one.

btw: Using same outdoor antenna I get Monterey Park and Alhambra with full bars. Simi ch2 barely 1-2 bars from Chatsworth

It’s that damn mountain. I live close to the east side mountain and I can’t get LA for the life of me. I get Simi on a handheld scanner with stick antenna with no issues.

I tried listening to 482.4125 for an hour today on my attic mounted discone. Nothing from Winnetka (Western SFV)

Location, location, location. Loud & clear here in eastern Ventura with 996XT & roof discone. Also my handheld (396T) with extendable at my desk. Dispatch encrypted for last hour.
Not much traffic tonight.

It sounded like they switched to Tac 2 around the time of the large protest on June 6. Tac 2 seemed to be protest traffic all day. I heard CHP, VCFD and VCSO on Tac 2 all day. I don't know if it's related or not. Units have been using encryption more too.

At 10:15 pm my scanner stopped on SVPD CH 1 453.925 during a motorcycle pursuit. Normal dispatch followed.

That's right! CH 1 is back. When it came back I have no idea.
