Has anyone come up with a better GPS solution for permanent mobile mount in an auto for the SDS200?

The current GPS kit is ridiculous you need to have the USB cable with the power inserter and then plug in the cigarette power adapter to power the GPS. Then you have the cable to the GPS itself. All of this leads to a tangled mess of connections and wires.

Why Uniden insists on skipping the internal GPS module is beyond me? Almost every other mobile device I use has built in GPS. My portable Ham radio, my phone, my watch, my car navigation, etc. etc. But Uniden instead insists that you buy a separate cluttered POS external tangle of wires and receiver.

If anyone has figured out a neat install for the GPS module, I would be greatly appreciative to see your solution.

Thanks

This is all you need for the sds200. The scanner powers it.

Ok thanks. I have been thinking about buying the SDS200 for a mobile. I have the BCD536 at home and I have an SDS100 portable and in those you use the older GPS module that required external power. I didn't realize they changed it on SDS200. Thanks

The new Uniden gps "kit" has all that extra stuff in them so it works on all their GPS capable scanners, but for the SDS200, you need the puck and the 4 wire phone cable. Nothing else except set the SDS200 to use 9600 baud for the GPS.

This had me scratching my head because I have been using that puck for 2 years.
