Two Uniden BCD436HP scanners. Both have the original antennas removed and replaced with telescopic antennas as these work much better for receive. Antennas hidden behind slider for sunroof. Very happy with having these mounted up out of the way in the cab of my vehicle.Screenshot_20250317_154829_Gallery.jpg

The driver's airbag is located in the center of the steering wheel, and the front passenger's airbag is in the dashboard, on the right-hand side in front of the passenger.

No concerns there as both scanners are above both out of the way.

A couple of decades ago I was in a pretty nasty car accident. I was clipped in the rear by someone changing lanes (think "pit maneuver") which sent me spinning. When the car stopped spinning I was broadsided by a semi truck. I had an all metal HT laying on the seat next to me and it bounced around like a pinball in a machine. Fortunately, it only hit my leg and dropped into the footwell of the vehicle. Had it hit me in the head, things would have been much worse. Since then, I've learned my lesson. All radio gear gets securely mounted and, as low as possible in the vehicle. Flying debris in the passenger cabin can really take the fun out of getting in accident.
