i live close to huntsville and am new to scanning. i just purchased a pro 90 off ebay for 40 bucks. it is a trunktracker for motorola tupe systems.i know this isnt the newest and high tech out there but i need to ease my way in. most all local stuff is conventional. from what i have read dps isnt trunked unless using local so freq. is this right? also on the database here whats the input freq for? do i need to program this in my scanner? thanks

That is not a hard fast rule to live by. Every system usually is setup different.

The input frequency is what is used to by a person to transmit so a repeater can .. well umm .. repeat it. :) Read more about that here: http://members.cox.net/rr_faq
do i need to program this in my scanner?
Some do, some dont.
