Anyone have the ID's for Simpson County? I have the frequencies.....

If you have them in the proper LCN order and your scanner can trunk track LTR then you should be getting id's all day. As I only have a PRO-2052, and a 30 chan conventional scanner I cant trunktrack LTR.

Thanks for the reply.... I didn't understand LTR when I posted (newbie to trunked). I can't do LTR with Pro95.... I scan w/conventional settings just fine.

LTR and Conventional Scanner

So true, you can listen to most LTR with no issues, and can easily tell by the convos what your listening to. The only annoying LTR systemns to listyen to are the ones like in use in Natchez. When monitoring these you have to deal with the every second or so ZZZZT sound on the chans. If you live near eneough you can just program the base chans and listen to both sides of comvos without the ZZZZT. But if your far enough away that the mobile side cant be heard then just program the repeaters with no, I repeat no delay and you can monitor without too bad an issue. If you put in delays it will lock on just one of the chans and you may miss calls. As for digital LTR as with EDACS PROVoice, there is no scanner that can do them yet.

If teh local pd's don't share the same freqs, I would like to get them for Magee, Mendenhall, and maybe Florence. I rarely hear anything from them on the Simpson freqs in the database.......

Does anyone who how to convert them so that they can read on the PRO-92 and Pro-2067 scanners.

Simpson County ID's

The ID's for the Simpson County system are as follows (but look for changes later in 2004)

Mendenhall PD 0-01-075

Magee PD 0-01-150

S. O. 0-01-050

There are some others but I don't have them handy

Magee works off the South Tower,
Mendenhall works off the North Tower
The S. O can work off either tower
The towers are not linked

155.090 is a MHP high band freq I think, the problem is the new Simpson freqs use the new 7.5mhz step and not many scanners will even go to the exact freq. what some people are doing is putting in a freq as close as they can to the exact freq and just hearing the bleed over(most scanners are very broad) The transmission you heard was actullay on 155.0925 most likely.

I enter the freqs and my scanner automatically pops to the closest it can do. The newest scanners are at least friendly eneough to give us the full 12.5 steps.

Another repeater has been added to the north tower of the Simpson County system. The Freq is 154.0325 but I don't think much will be heard there because there are only 2 talk groups using it and I don't know why it would every be used unless one of the 1st 2 failed

Could possibly be for future usage by the EOC/VFD's???? And thus bring all county services online?

Well not really, the VFD on this end of the county opted to remain conventonal, we just did not think it would be any advantage for us to get on the trunked system. For one thing the radio's cost a lot more, so the north end of the county VFD still operate on 154.205, Pinola operates on 154.325 and there is a conventional repeater on the south tower but I don't recall the freq.

Station 7 is on the South Tower, they supposed to be on 155.6775 (I have heard them there) but for some reason I now hear the 10 second beacon on that channel as if it is now trunking, so Im not sure what the deal is there.

Ok here goes, I show Magee FD on 151.055 with a DCS of 174. And I show Station 7 on 155.6775 with a DCS of 023. I hope this helps.

does anyone how to get the pro 2067 to take the simpson co freq off the trs database. when i put them in it converts them to a 12.0 mhz step (i think) i think it needs to be a 7.5 step.

I don't know which radio shack radios will do the 7.5 step, but I have a Uniden 785 it will also the 780 will. You would have to consult the manual to see if your radio will, RS manuals are on line if you don't have one.
