can anyone tell me if simsbury is still on 453.750 because I havent heard a peep from there system in 3 days here in newbritain ? thanks!

i THINK SIMSBURY HAS SWITCHED OVER TO SOME TYPE OF FREQUENCY HOPPING SYSTEM BECAUSE i ONLY HEAR PARTS OF THERE TRANSMISSION ON 453.750 THEN THE CUT OUT...DOES ANYONE KNOW AT THIS TIME?

go to simsbury , in the database under connecticut. hartford county. then click on the fcc call
sign for the police. it looks like the police have a inbound and outbound frequency. i might be wrong.
im no expert. but give it a shot. click on the call letters.

I think maybe IM recieving some other system on that freq,while simsbury is still there but I just can barely hear them when I hook up my preamp here in newbritain..thanks!

Nothing has changed in regards to switching a system or anything. Might be something weird going on with your equipment. Double check you Freq and pl as stated in this thread. Should come in loud and clear

youre right I move my antenna and I just can narely hear them in the background noise,I guess there signal fades at certain times of year....

or maybe they switched antennas thats why thier signal is weak now

Nope I am in Bloomfield and they come in the same. The ambulance is the one that's really weak. It's like 10 watts something like that. Police loud and clear over the mountain.

SPD has several repeaters and can change them from the PD dispatch console. They have the main repeater on the CL&P tower on the Talcott Mtn ridgeline. The backup rarely used.

I bet thats what happened because a few weeks ago they were coming in pretty loud and clear here in newbritain,but they are barely inaudible now
