In 32+ years in law enforcement, I've been involved in tornados and tornado drills, chemical spills, flood exercises, hurricanes, civil disobedience drills, train wrecks and lord knows what, but, fortunately, I've never been involved in a tsunami exercise.

Yeah, it says Columbus, GA, up there in the corner.

KK4JUG, I've been a first responder since 1990.
My house sits directly under Philadelphia Intl Airport's
final approach. I have taking off and landing commercial
aircraft flying over my head. Sometimes so close, that I
almost want to duck. Yet we have never had a system-wide
drill for an air disaster. God help us if it ever does happen
because nobody is prepared for it. Now, to the other side of
me is Atlantic City NJ. It's about a 40 minute drive from my house.
No "direct impact" on us here, but the results would have
some negative impact on the area in general. I'm curious.

Air disaster drills are a federal requirement. Are you sure they are not being conducted at all there?

Like DaveNF2G, I find it difficult to believe that some sort of plane crash exercise hasn't been conducted. Philly has a major airport and I wouldn't be surprised if the FAA has an office there.

Here in Columbus, we have a regional airport serviced only by Delta. I can recall 3 exercises in recent years. One of them was full scale involving a triage section, full communications in the mobile command post and ambulances and helicopters actually transporting some "victims" to hospitals, although, for safety's sake, the ambulances did not use emergency equipment while traveling on the streets.

Our "victims" were local high school and college students.
