I have a Uniden 436 that I tried to reprogram, and obviously failed. Do I need to delete all of the towers except one and put all of the site frequencies under one? Or how do I program it to work with the simulcast. I'm lost.

Program the radio with the Colorado Springs Simulcast control frequency of 853.7125 only.

Radio performance afterwards depends on the radio.

Good luck!

So is that the same for a Pro-106, just use the simulcast CC and take out all the towers or leave the towers in?

Where do I program that into? As a site manually? Or into other sites?

Picking up things fairly well on a 536HP and TRAM 1094 around Fillmore and Centennial. I'm running a system hold time of 4 that seems to be working.

Occasionally things come in very choppy, but most times they come in crisp.

How did you program the 536 for the control channel frequency? I have a 436 and am lost as to where to do that.

Are you using the Uniden Sentinel Software?

I downloaded the new site this morning from the master database with no programming required.

If you want manually input everything, you can make a favorites list and then right click and "program favorites list" then click on the "State of Colorado DTRS" and manually input a new site.

I am using sentinel but didn’t notice the updated frequencies. I’ll try again.

Still Scanning Here

Just wanted to add a quick note to say that I have not reprogrammed my scanners at all since the switch, and everything seems to be working fine for me. I have two Pro-197 desktop models, a similar WS1065, and a handheld PSR-500.

I didn't think I had the Stanley Canyon site programmed before, but I guess I did, because I found the old Stanley Canyon control channel (853.7125) in my list along with the 25 other control channels from other sites. And in case you haven't read through this entire thread, the old Stanley Canyon control channel is now the control channel on the new simulcast system. Last night, I was watching which frequencies popped up on the display screen, and it was mostly the frequencies from the simulcast group, as well as the Cheyenne Mt group.

Also, I work at a TV station, and we contacted CSPD to ask if we could bring in our old police radios to be reprogrammed, and we were told that the radios should continue working fine. So far, they are. I guess they had the Stanley Canyon control channel included as well.

If anything, I might go through my frequency list and delete some of the non-working control channels just to be a bit more efficient, but when the scanner goes through 30-60 frequencies per second, that probably won't make much of a difference anyway, right?

FYI, I am in southwest Colorado Springs. Reception is decent. I don't seem to miss much traffic within El Paso County. And I don't believe I have experienced any of the "simulcast distortion" or whatever that issue is called.... YET. :)

Thanks everyone for all the info recently. I don't entirely understand what's happening, or why, but I have benefited from reading all the posts recently. Keep up the good work.

And if anyone would like my most recent Win500 file to experiment with the new system, I'm happy to send that over. bartbedsole@hotmail.com

For those with the Uniden x36 scanners, Uniden released a firmware update that helps with these kind of sites.

Another work around is the aforementioned Yagi pointed at the closest site to you.

Try the firmware update first and see how it works out.

If your x36 or HP1 isn't updating the database via Sential properly, a complete removal of the software and reinstall works.

Remember to READ your scanner, do a "update database" then WRITE to the scanner to receive the most current database. All "update database" does is download it to the software, not the scanner. The WRITE to scanner command actually transfers it to the scanner.

Gone Quiet

Monday things were going great with receiving the new simulcast site, today I fired up the scanner and haven't had any luck getting anything.

The only site I have loaded is the new simulcast site, I have a system time of 4.

Anyone else having issues?

RS Pro-106: Nothing but crickets

I have tried a few things today to get back my transmissions here in Colorado Springs since they switched over, but no luck. Nothing but crickets. I will look over other threads likewise.

Any other advice regarding my RS Pro-106 would be appreciative.

The coverage with my 436 sucks since the simulcast switch. Does anyone know if I can program the remaining zone 4 towers not on the simulcast into my scanner and use those to monitor, or will those radios not affiliate with those towers?
