I have been noticing on my SDS100 that I have been noticing the local P25 Simulcast system has started to lose the signal/distort on transmissions, I use the Remtronix 920S, the system is a 400MHz system, but it doesn’t do it all the time, but I’ll notice it starts to garble the signal with the RSSI at -95 and works all the way up to -115 with increasing garble. Is this just me or is anyone else having this issue? I live within 3 miles of 3 of the simulcast towers.

You problem probably isn't related to simulcast. (The SDS100 can handle multipath interference caused by simulcast fairly well).

If you are indeed within 3 miles of 3 tower sites, and getting up to -115, (quite low signal), it sounds like some sort of RFI is causing problems. Remember, the front end of the SDS100/200 is quite wide and any strong signal anywhere close to the target frequency can de-sense the radio.

Have you purchased and installed the waterfall feature? It will show you graphically if there is some other RF that may be interfering.

Not yet, I’ve been wanting to, I just haven’t gotten around to it.

The SDS line of scanners does handle simulcast quite well, but it is not perfect. I'm still getting a wee bit of garble in certain places.

I'd take the scanner away from your home 1/4 mile or so and see if the issue goes away. If it does, then go back home and start eliminating sources of de-sense.
