What scanner does great on simulcast?
Since you're in the UNIDEN forum, the only 2 are the SDS 100 and SDS 200.

There are other radios like the Unication radios but they're not UNIDENS.

No Whistlers are specifically designed for Simulcast.

I have 436HP and have issues locking on to simulcast sites
As was mentioned your other thread in the Texas forum, the only 'true' scanner that handles Simulcast issues is the Uniden SDS series (SDS100 & SDS200).

While not a 'true' scanner, the Unication pagers work well on Simulcast, but they have some limitations as to what you can monitor at any one time. See this post for additional information: Unication details

The Blue Tail receiver, P25RX-II also handles simulcast, but is not a 'scanner' in the sense that you can not manually enter channels & system details on the fly. It is programmed via PC, and does not have an actual display. It also requires external power to be provided. It does not have batteries, though you could use one of the power banks used for charging cell phones & tablets to power it away from other power sources.

You also could use one of the SDR dongles, and download free software to monitor a system, but that requires using a PC for the dongle to work. That, again, is not feasible for mobile usage, but from a fixed location, you could receive simulcast sites.

As Doc has already mentioned, none of the Whistler models are designed to deal with Simulcast. This would apply to the scanner models made by Whistler, but sold via Radio Shack, as well even earlier versions, produced by GRE before they shut down, sold either under their nameplate, or at Radio Shack.

The two sites in your home county (Grimes, based on the location in your profile) are not Simulcast, so I presume this is related to your query about Galveston in the Texas Forum.
