could someone tell me where I could find a single earbud with a 3.5mm plug to be used on a pro-106. I have looked everywhere, but cannot find one.

I know you said earbud, but I like this style better, as it stays on the ear better and is more comfortable.

This comprises a standard "D" earpiece that goes around the ear lobe. Then the long wire goes directly down to the moulded 3.5mm mono jack plug. It is long enough to wear the radio on the belt or in a trouser pocket.

I'll second that. I use one of these in conjunction with the speaker mike for my work radio, and it's far more comfortable when you have to wear it for several hours at an emergency scene. Works great for the scanners too.
Has the durability of the cord improved? That is the most common complaint I see of those items.

I have been ordering from Crane for many years now.
When I was using my PSR 500, I used the ones you used to find at the truck stop; however, I returned to Crane to get the earphone because the one listed is stereo. I cannot recall if stereo works in a scanner with mono.
