UPMAN:

Uniden had from April of 2014 to work on the Siren Apps, Can your Company give some insight to when we can use our scanner to what was told on your November 2013 YouTube video. The tools released do not work well on windows 7 or 8 with out configuring system and hardware.

The VLC meda player don;t work on three different computers and your RH-536HP_mkll.zip will only run on my windows XP computer with no audio. That is the Beef we need what was told on the You Tube Video. What happened to (Simple) !!!...

Thanks
Dan

If VLC isn't working on 3 different computers, and RH536 isn't either, you have very bad luck with computers. I have yet to find a computer (and I've owned more than two dozen) which won't run VLC. And I have two 64-bit Windows 7 machines which will run RH536 just fine.

If you take a moment to think about it, the apps couldn't be developed until the function of the wi-fi adapter could be straightened out. That's what's "simple". Now that it's functioning, work will proceed. In fact, I know of at least one software developer who is eager to use the command protocols released last week to make his program (which already works with the 436/536) work that much better. And I'd be a fool if I thought he was the only one working on it.

To boot, Analyze is even working with the RH536 program - partially, but working is working.

Instead of grouching at Uniden, perhaps you should be asking for some assistance in making VLC and RH536 work, from those of us who have them working without problems. I'm willing to troubleshoot if you bother telling me what's wrong.

Dan, I've moved your thread to the Uniden Tavern add it seems more like a jab at Uniden than someone asking for help.

As Jay said, VLC is running fine for most people. I have it running on a Win7 32bit laptop and an iPad myself.

The rudimentary app that Uniden provided runs just fine on my Win7 laptop.

As noted, VLC runs on just about anything. It's a very simple program. I've never had it not run on a computer. Sounds like a user install issue to me.
