I always like to take an opportunity to suggest anyone out here who is a smart phone app developer, make contact with Upman. Perhaps some mutually beneficial arrangements can be made.

Ditto for Bob at Proscan. Maybe if enough people ask he'll consider a mobile client. :)

Right, but I was replying to a post that says
"anyone out here who is a smart phone app developer, make contact with"
I know, wishful thinking. But if a 3rd party did the client, little work for Bob. The app could sell for a reasonable fee, and Bob and the deveolper could share the revenue.

Don S. published the specs for the client communication protocol with Win 500 and someone wrote an Android client.

I can’t believe it... it’s actually working. I’ve had this scanner for 16 months and think this worked four times out of dozens of times I’ve tried.

Must be the moon. [emoji275]

I've had no problems with the Android version. The only reason I asked is that where your version has a "MUTE" button, the Android has "VOLUME".

Connecting was pretty easy, once I figured out the configuration. That was just me, though.

There are a few things I'd like to see updated or changed, but for the most part it does what I want.

iPhone.

I don’t know the pain of the Android sufferers with Siren, but the iPhone struggle has been real, at least for me.

I believe that what affects the Android Sufferers is the version of the OS in use. I have no trouble with Siren on my Samsung S4 with Android 5.0.1. But, on my S8 with 8.0, Siren acts like a violent app killer.

I can control the volume on the phone without much issue using the buttons on the side.

It continuously runs, even when I close the app. I can only shut it off if I turn the radio off or manually shut the app off.

My experience with this has been bizarre. I struggled to get it set up initially like many have. Once I did, it was flaky in operation at best. Once in a while it worked, most of the time it would not.

I just moved recently to a different town. I had a chance to fool with it last night. I reset the IP and matched the radio settings to the app and it lit right up. I went through the same protocols at my former home before and generally had poor results. Once in while it worked, more times than not it would not. I am not sure if it is the combination of me moving or what the deal is.

I am just ecstatic that it is working. Hopefully, it continues to. It's a wonderful feature.
