Site 177, Nebraska City

Howdy, everyone!

I have been told that that the elusive Site 177 (Otoe Co / Nebraska City) was on the air late this afternoon and broadcasting CC bits on 155.700. A closer inspection of Pro96Com, tonight, when pointed to the Falls City and Plattsmouth sites indicates a CC frequency of 155.460.

However, the Status reads as "Failed, Current" on both sites which would explain why I can't hear the CC here in Murray currently!

As the site gets completed, I will post more information, including the most likely physical location!

The _one_ day I neglect to scan 154.000 to 162.380 on both trips is the one that the last site shows-up on! :*)

The new tower location for the Otoe County site is: 40 41 10.0N, 95 51 4.7W
... which is approx 10th Ave & Scenic Dr in the very northeast part of Neb City.

Call sign is WQNI466.

Not sure, but I think this tower is one that the Corps of Engineers built for VHF comms along the Missouri River.

The tower on scenic drive is one of those 4 sided towers...about 50 feet tall. Next to the edge of the hill.

That can't be it! I was by there this time last year, and it is a dinky tower! Although the view of Iowa was impressive, I don't believe that is the intended coverage...

Actually, that's the new location specified in the license modification which was filed with the FCC on 06/04. The File # is 0005246451 and the coordination happened on 05/24.

The previous location was the water tower in Neb City, which, according to the Mod Application, was a mere 5m lower in HAAT than the new site.

... the title says it all, folks!

I'll have some data very soon and will share it! Signal strength here in Murray is quite good - should make for a good site in SE Nebraska!

As promised, here's the info on the elusive Site 177 (Nebraska City / Otoe Co.)! - this is the final site in the system, as you know! I heard two guys talking on 3301 (999xxx RIDs) on both the Plattsmouth and Neb City towers, so it's carrying traffic. It's also carrying PvtData traffic, as well.

I've submitted the info to Cellphone for inclusion into the DB.
