Does not surprise me as the South central and SouthWest part of Weld county have horrible 800 coverage. Especially Lupton and Locbuie.

Have a friend who thinks he found it; I am at 140th and Colo Blvd across from the newest fire station. The site is just east up on a hill.

Talk about the only tree (fake) for miles. Must be trying to make the neighbors in all the new homes happy.

I have the bigger versions but there to large to upload here, email me if interested.

I have a question regarding this move to 700mhz for thorton. So there is one site that is covering thorton and parts of adams county. And I am guessing just one site that is primarily for adams county. What happens if a radio loses that cc and it is in 700mhz mode. Does it automatically switch over to 800 and look for a control channel?

Does anyone iknow for sure.

See my post on the other thread Dave, believe the radios can be set to look for a 700 CC as priority and if it's not available they revert to 800.

Right now I am seeing the same Weld County radio ids on 700 and 800 control channels over a 15 minute time frame.

It's likely true that the radio will first check the programmed preferred sites 1st then do a complete 700/800 band scan to find a network site the radio is assigned to if it doesn't find a CC in the programmed preferred list.

It does not matter if the CC is on 700 or 800 it should affiliate on a site with the best signal on the network the radio is assigned to. Provided the site does not deny access to the radio based on the talkgroup it is on.

Something of note for D1C. If a site has any 800 freqs the CC will be on 800 even if it has 700 freqs available. If there are no 800 freqs assigned to that site it obviously will have a 700 only CC.

FWIW the 775.53125 CC signal has really dropped in strength here. Definate signal propagation in effect.

I've noticed that too. I'm right next to where it is supposed to be and I'm only getting 50-60% decode.

Here, in Broomfield, I'm getting between 85% and 100% decode. It's been consistant since I started listening around Noon.

Still 75-80% solid here as well logging and listening. Also that is definatly a DTRS site if you go around the hill to the East and look at it from much closer around 140th and Dexter you can see the building that houses all the equiptment.

Another thing I've noticed is that the audio off of Site 322 seems to be a better than Squaw, Thorodin, and Lookout.

I can actually understand what they're saying 90% of the time. The "bassy", muffled audio seems to tame down on 322. (At my location, the 996t has set the P25 Threshold as 5 for Site 322 if this affects the audio at all?)

I am getting an average of 50% decode in SW Fort Collins.

Plenty of activity but no Callsign logged yet.

Has anyone captured the License Callsign for this site?

Thanks,

The spud...

The difference is 700 MHz uses 6.25 KHz narrowband frequencies.

Phil, you notice all the 6C radios today on 700 bet those Boulder County troopers are happy to have some sort of DTRS signal option.

Not much luck with the 700 site up here today (poor signal) though I'll take the "toy radio" with me to the daytime job tomorrow and see if there is any Boulder coverage.

It would be nice if they get Betasso and Gunbarrel sites on the air sometime soon.

Do we have the right location?

New site licensed by Adcom 112th & Cherokee on October 6th, this might be the microwave link for the new site.
