"Site Hold" won't go away

I am having this issue when I find some sites that show "Site Hold". I press the function key followed by (DEPT)/(SITE) to get rid off the site hold, however I get the alert that site is off but it is not. Am I doing something wrong? How do I permanently get rid of this site hold, it is very frustrating.

What model scanner? What happens if you disable & re-enable the favorites list?

Sounds like the OP has a x36, home patrol or SDS based on the button sequence they described

OP, are you sure you have more than one site programmed in? If you press Func then site and then scroll, does it move to the next site?

Press the green top button on the left side of your scanner and then the DEPT/SITE button.

Is the Site Hold supposed to go away when you press functio+DEPT and wait until it says site hold off? After I do this I can scroll through the channels but not the department or system.

That is correct. That procedure will toggle site hold on and off. When you press the function button, the DEPT button changes to SITE. Just press function and then SITE. You do not have to hold the buttons.

Wrong after the Site hold goes off. You can toggle thru either the sites or departments. After site hold is off. hit the Function button then site to toggle thru sites. To toggle thru systems. Just hit the system buttons and turn the knob. To toggle departments hit the department button and turn the knob. Pressing the function button to toggle the departments or systems is not required

Do you mean the soft key on the top row?

Pushing the hold key is just as same as pressing the function key then site. The three soft keyes on top row. Are hold keyes. Left is hold key for System. Middle is for Departments. Right is for Channel. Function button brings up Site hold which is in middle. I can tell you this. Go to Restore Options in settings. And reset your user settings might clear the site hold. (If the Function + Site button dosen't clear it). Reset user settings. Clears your scanner to default settings. And clears other settings like Customization settings for display. Colors and Details modes. If you like yours with tailored with colors. You will have to redo it over. What ever you do don't Clear User Data.

What do you have your Squelch on? By default it's on 2. Change it to 3. And see what happens.

I changed the squelch, it hasn't shown again. Thanks for your help. By the way, what is that symbol next to the WX above the channel key??

That will be close calls. It stores all close calls when you have it on scan. You can turn that off by hitting function button and then button E i think. Or go in menu. Go to close call. Go to CC mode and hit off
