New to the Purcellville, VA area. I hear 6A on 46.38, but what do I plug in my scanner to hear Ch. 6 Baker?

Thank you in advance.

Pretty much all No Va jurisdictions have gone to 800mhz trunked radio....in fact the entire DC area (except PG) has. You will need a new 800 radio, avalible from radio shack or bearcat. Most jurisdictions dispatch on thier adam channel then units switch to baker for routine ops. Anything like a fire, hazmat or other larger scale incident will be switched to charlie, david, etc depending on how many talk groups are needed. That's how Loudoun works as well. All of the frequencies & talkgroup ID's are listed here on the radio reference to get you started. Every jurisdiction still uses thier old dispatch channel to simulcast the Adam channel only as a general rule except Alexandria Fire, which cannot be monitored without a trunking radio. Hope this helps a little.
