• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I am a lineman for the county.
They were at IWCE or APCO last year.
It looked like a really nice, well built, durable product. They have an "MTVA" type adapter it drops into and makes it into a mobile.

I tried to get one of my groups to try them out, but they didn't want the monthly bill.

Says it supports Band 14.

We are on band 14. Our tech is looking at getting some for a town's lifeguard crew since they only need radios for about 90 days a year. If the radio is off we don't pay for airtime. Will get more details in a few weeks when I get my hands on one.

I would talk with the ES Chat people.

Might also talk with the Goosetown People

In the back end we have multiple integrations that can take presence and other signaling from various implementations and combine it to a single situational awareness like Esri Mission or even feed a CAD Gateway. So Motorola, Wave on Cloud & Smart Connect, L3 Harris BeOn, ES Chat and others all should play in safety and security with a little planning.

We have 3 of our talk groups patched into the SD7s.
I demoed some Sonim XP5s with a local trash company, they liked them but felt more secure with a mobile unit so they could use a mic and separate speaker. They were afraid the handheld would not pass muster for hands free commercial driving.
They company got bought out by Waste management, the driver I talked to last week said they went with tablets that quit working over 7 mph for safety reasons.

I get Siyata's press releases, they are making progress. The county's animal control folks are using these and have no complaints.
I got my hand on one Wednesday when our PSAP director brought one for me to see at our advisory board meeting. Unfortunately he took it back, the nerve...

I need a new toy.

Chinese ODM device. Compare the Estalky E550.

I'd be careful not to get into another Hytera situation.
