A statement issued by Vail Mountain Friday afternoon says the skier was a 62-year-old Colorado man.
ski incident on the Gitalong Road, a beginner trail between the Columbine and Bear Tree trails on Vail Mountain.

In Breckenridge, a 19-year-old man died after a snowboard incident on Northstar, an intermediate run.
The man was reportedly wearing a helmet.
