This Morning at 3 am i heard a tone and call for a car accident over Niagara Falls fd ny 460.575 that i never heard before and it was clear as could be Turns out it was from the Waterville fd in Northwestern Ohio which is 330 miles from me

It is the farthest thing by far that i have ever picked up

Nice catch...a result of weather related ducting. If you listen to low band, for example the 42 MHz range, you'll hear signals from much farther than that at times of band openings.

I remember 15 years ago when I lived in Fort Myers, FL that many times in the wee hours of the morning I could clearly receive the Tampa Police Department in the 453 Mhz range. Tampa and Fort Myers are about 120 miles apart.
