Skywarn Appreciation Day

Saturday, Dec 4th is Skywarn Appreciation Day, sponsored by the National Weather Service in appreciation of all their dedicated storm spotters.

The Tulsa NWS office will launch a weather balloon from the parking lot (weather permitting).

There will also be tours of the NWS and a special event station (amateur radio HF) from their neighbor, the Red Cross.

Location is 11th & 169, in the bank building on the NW corner.

But, due to governmental security considerations, the afternoon activities in the NWS office are open to licensed hams and the media only.

What tome does this all kick off. Sounds like a day that my kids would like. I have taken boy scout tours throught there and the guys at the NWS
are great.
