Does anyone know what the 3 preprogramed freq. for the skywarn feature of the Pro-97 are. I accidentally deleted them from mine. Thanks, Karl.

Welcome Karl!

No big deal on loosing those frequencies. SkyWarn is operated by ham radio operators, for early severe weather warnings. Your member info does not indicate where you are located, so I can not advise you on what those frequencies should be. At the top of RR's site here, you'll see RR Database. Look up your location, and it's likely you'll find that information there. If not, advise us where you live, and I'm certain someone will respond with the correct frequencies.

Looks like you're served by the Metro Skywarn out of St. Paul MN. Their website is http://www.skywarn.ampr.org/ and they use the Twin Cities Repeater Club on 147.2100 mHz FM.

The website for the repeater club is: http://www.tcrc.org/

Skywarn is a volunteer organization, most comms will be on amateur radio frequencies, and skywarn is not the only traffic you'll hear. since ham radio is a hobby, most likely you'll be hearing a lot of non-emergency comms on the frequency, and the only time it'll be used for skywarn will be when an alert is put out for severe threatening weather. Most groups do have formal on air training nets. tcrc.org has a schedule for all of their repeaters with nets.

Anybody have any for Stark County, Ohio. I posted a question in the Ohio forum, but with no luck. Thanks all.

Ok so my local national weather service office is Twin Cities, MN. Website: http://www.crh.noaa.gov/mpx/
Now what?

Hmm... Normally, the local NWS site will have a link to the local Skywarn group and their frequencies. However, I am not seeing anything like that for KMPX.

My advice is to just keep looking.

All I did was go to http://www.google.com and do a search with location name and then skywarn.

For example, I went to google and simply typed in stark county ohio skywarn and got this page back...

http://www.wd8aye.org/skywarn.htm
This is the official Stark County Ohio SKYWARN website..
147.1200 mHz is their repeater frequency.

Get general SKYWARN information for the nation here:

google is your friend :)

Now try doing that google search with "Renville County Minnesota skywarn", "Yellow Medicine County Minnesota skywarn", or "Chippewa County Minnesota skywarn". Now that'll stump you.

Crow River Spotters - Renville County MN
http://users.hutchtel.net/~kshaddri/
147.375 MHz Hutchinson Mn Repeater

Yellow Medicine County doesn't have one in fact
their Emergency Cordinator (EC) position is currently OPEN to fill
according to the MN section site.

The same for Chippewa County. No skywarn, and their EC position is currently open
