Salt Lake City Airport Authority

----- I sent to Tim----

I suggest removal of this system from the database. 11 of the freqs listed are now part of the Salt Lake City Public Safety System (AC33). One of the freqs is part of UCAN, and the other 2 are not being used, locally.

Keeping this system, as it is in the Database, is creating confusion with the PRO-107/ISCAN download Library. If you load the Airport Auth system into your 107, then scanner sees SLC PS traffic as Airport traffic with different TG's.

-----Tim Replied back with -----

Hi Gary. So is there anything that needs to be saved or converted to AC33 from this system? This sounds like something we should run by the forum for comments first. Can you post your proposal there?

If ya removed...

QUESTION:
If we removed this data information can these talk groups still be monitored for those who choose...

I'm still seeing a control channel on 858.4875. My advice would be to hold off on deleting the entry until the system is completely off the air. I'll monitor with trunker today to determine which frequencies and which talkgroups (if any) are still in use.

There's not much left on this system, but there still are a couple of active groups. I think the database should be updated, rather than deleting this system from it.

From 1 days worth of monitoring:

Thanks for checking this. I removed all the frequencies that were also listed for AC33, which left the four logged by KD7RTO plus 859.48750, which I downgraded to a possible Alt channel. That should eliminate the confusion with AC33. I will be happy to delete more frequencies as well as TGs. Let me know what a few more days of scanning pick up.

I wondered why this system seemed dead when I was in the valley for 2 weeks over Christmas.

Thanks Gary. I removed the extraneous frequency and added the TGs you logged that are new. I thought of deleting all the SLC TGs, but you got hits on 48496 that was (is?) SLC Police East (Liberty). -Tim

I would recommend removing all but the TG's I've logged so far. Maybe treat this system as a"new" system.

I also agree that removing those groups confirmed as having moved to AC33 could spare some unnecessary confusion.

Gary - have the units you have monitored on 1168 just been maintenance, or have you heard parking enforcement as well?

I'm happy to remove unlogged TGs. I just wonder where they all went and if some are just used infrequently. Are there any suggestions for some I should keep? I'll wait a day for further comments.

What I've heard the last couple of days is comms dealing with Maint type issues. Primarily equipment not working/damaged. I have not heard any enforcment type comms.

Hearing no objections, I deleted the TGs that have not been logged recently. Feel free to submit any new TGs that you hear on this system.
