Does anyone know the channel designations as known by SLC PD? The RR Database gives us the TGIDs and labels them East 1, East 2, West 1, West 2, etc. However, while monitoring several incidents recently, I have heard different units instructed to go to, as an example, "Channel 4." The RR Database does not identify a Channel 4 in the SLC PD system. The officers obviously know their radio system as channels 1 through whatever, while we scanners know them by TGIDs. It would be nice to be able to correlate the two different approaches. The couple of times I have heard this type of channel designation I tried to follow by manually switching through all the TGs, but I was unable to identify the voices to know which TG they went to. I do know that it was not c2c. It might have been the Service TG, but as I said, I was not able to identify the voice(s) of the officer(s).

Good evening. This page seems to show the older UHF channels and how they match up with the new talkgroups:

Mick,

That link was extremely helpful. It answered the questions I had and a couple of others I had wondered about. Rather amusing that a member from California is the one to give me requested information on our local system(s), but any and all help is appreciated.
