If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have a need to interface to a Tier II DMR system via offsite analog. Currently doing it with a CM200d donor radio but would like to move to something continuous duty and 1RU rack mount. Does anyone know if the SLR5700 can be programmed as a subscriber on a DMR system to use as a donor radio?

No, because you wouldn't know what's going on. An slr-5700 is a repeater with no physical controls on the front panel.

It would be programmed with the subscriber frequencies and you would still have to have a portable radio to know what is going on and that radio would have to be programmed with the repeater frequencies, which would in turn make your portable act as a repeater and now there would be a random rogue repeater on the system causing headaches for the system owner.

You would have to make the portable receive only and still have to have another subscriber programmed normally to talk.

What you need is a mobile radio like an xpr-5550e, for example.

To clarify, I dont need to control anything. Interface would be from the accessory connector on the back for TX audio, RX audio, PTT, and COR and interfaced into an analog gateway on a P25 trunked system. My wonder is if the SLR can be programmed for talkgrouos as I don’t see a way to do that in CPS.

I have stacks of DMR CM200d and XLR 5550 radios but I’m looking for a solution that is ideally 1RU rack mount and 100% duty cycle

He doesn't want to use the SLR5700 as a repeater, he wants to use it as a subscriber, and interface to it. No need for controls. It only needs to be on a single TG/channel(from what I can gather, could be wrong), and the TX/RXaudio PTT, and COR would be connected to something else. No need for volume, channel changing or anything else. It's going to live in a rack in a shack or closet somewhere.
