The NMO connection is where the antenna attaches to the coax. The one you purchased requires either a hole is drilled into the roof, trunk or fender of a car or a NMO trunk or hood lip mount is used. The SMA connector on the SDS100 will not accept the normal SMA connectors. (There is a rib around the antenna port that prevents its attachment. Uniden provides with the SDS100 an adapter that does fit the SDS100 but it culminates in a BNC connector. Either send what you ordered back and swap it out for a NMO/BNC or file that ridge down to where you can attach the SMA.

If it i s a normal cable-mounted SMA it will fit on the SDS100 but it will be difficult to twist it all the way on and then off due to the raised rib around the connector. I have size 3X hands and fat fingers but can still manipulate it and get it on but it is a little bit of a chore.

You can use the included BNC adapter as suggested or perhaps a more sturdy 3rd-party adapter that accounts for the rib and a BNC antenna cable or even an SMA Male to Female extension (Like this one: SMA Male to SMA Female Connector | Scanner Master)
