SMA Connector for BC346XT

Well, had a little accident involving gravity and the BC346XT and ended up with the SMA connector breaking at the base of the threads.

Would love to get a part # for a replacement so I can order it or know where I could locate.

Have looked at mouser, but...lots of random parts there

Image below showing an exploded view. I measured best I could with some dial calipers, the width of the threads as 0.245". Diameter of the bulkhead is 0.367" (and across the flat spot, it's 0.326") And my best effort to measure the entire length is 0.571".

The blob of solder on the end is where a small jumper of lead goes to the circuit board. The two little half-pieces would go into the end of the connector (where the antenna lead seats).

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

The Uniden part # is BJKG1211001 for the entire SMA assembly that solders to the board. Call Uniden Parts at 800-554-3988 to see if they have them in stock.

I will give that a shot tomorrow (parts dept closed on weekends). Closest match on uniden.com was the Earphone jack, so I assume I'll need to call directly.

Uniden is a real PIA when it comes to scanner parts. The main site is more or less useless when it comes to finding most parts, and if you post a parts request for internal parts on their wiki site, they'll reply with "The internal parts would not be a item that we stock as sellable. If you would like to send this in for a warranty repair you can send the unit along with a copy of the sales slip and the issue with the unit to..." or "The parts you would need are not parts that Uniden stocks as sellable items.They do offer a flat rate fee of $59.95 for a repair and you would have the unit fixed or replaced for that fee."

I had an issue with a cracked 346XT front case and was told the parts are "not orderable". I called the Uniden Parts # for the heck of it, and 10 minutes later all parts I needed were on their way to me costing just a few dollars with no charge for shipping. In fact, I ordered two of each just to have on hand because the parts were so cheap.

I'm a fan of closing the loop, so here's the epilogue...

Short details: Got the new part, installed, and all is well. Scanner is up and running. Big thanks to Chauffuer for the Part and Ph# pointers.

Longer Details:
I first searched the uniden website for BJKG1211001 and it came up with a "near" match of BJKG1222001, which is the earphone jack. Not the part I want. I mention this because it comes into play during the first part of the phone call.

I called the parts ph # and first described the part and then provided the number. They came back with, "Ok, we have that. I see it as the Earphone Jack". So this person just did what I did and likely searched the main site. I restated what I was looking for and she transfered me to someone else.

I described what I was looking for and this person knew what it was and had found it. I asked what the part # was and they read back BJKG1211001, which matched up.

I'm skipping over the part about the short upsell discussion about sending in the unit for servicing ($59). I respect the attempt, but indicated I just wanted the replacement part.

I do the same thing for things like this, and ordered an extra so I got 2 @ 5$/ea + $10 shipping.

Received within 6 biz days.

Overall, happy with the experience and again, thanks Chauffeur for the info.

Outstanding, glad to hear you had the same positive experience with the parts specialist over the phone that I did. You may never need to use that spare one you bought, but for $5 it's worth the peace of mind having it readily available just in case.
