Small Rohn 25G grounding

For those in the know I have a few questions. I'm considering putting up a small Rohn 25G. The tower itself would be no more than 20 feet high with about a 3-4 foot mast on top. The tower would support three antennas. To do this I will have to cut out a section of patio to cement in the base. This would be right next to the house and right outside the window of where all my radios out. I already have a ground rod that's tied to the house system at the entrance point for all coaxes. I would be able to put maybe two ground rods in a planter but they would be close (no more than six feet). Not ideal, but since I live in Los Angeles I'm wondering if this would be acceptable or if the lightning risk is just too high.

With the limited access you have around the new tower base I think one 10ft ground rod at the tower with a large conductor wire clamped to the nearest tower leg then to the ground rod at the tower then to the ground rod at the window would be about the best you can do. If you were starting with a clean slate you might do a 10ft dia buried ground ring around the tower with three 10ft ground rods around the circumference of the ground ring and all tower legs bonded to the ground ring using minimum 250MCM bare copper wire. Then that would go to the ground ring around the house since this is the clean slate version.

I just got a free tower for a friend that was taken down a few days ago and the building in this picture had 75 ground rods around the perimeter about 20ft apart and there was a ground ring around this tower with all three legs bonded to the ground ring. All ground cables were 500MCM including the ground ring around the 175ft X 225ft building. This tower is a Rohn but a much larger series with two 20ft sections. the new owner will have to rent a crane to put this one up so you should feel lucky about having a 25 series Rohn.

Let me know how far of a ground cable run you have from the tower to the window ground rod and maybe I can scrounge up some large ground cable.
