I use this little trick while listening to my pro 92 which does not have the best audio quality,= I just turn the microphone on my pc to the speaker on the pro92 ,which is setting on a shelf at the same height as my mic does, my pc mic is tapped to the top of my monitor and the mic swivels and rotates,

Then all I do is adjust my pc mic volume and my 5.1 surround sound speakers volume, and I get great surround sound from my pro 92. Works 4 me

Why don't you just run an audio cable from the scanner's headphone jack to your sound card's line in jack? The sound quality would be much better and it'll be eaiser to set up.

Thats what I did but nobody wants to hear the little crap that goes on around here.

You might be surprised...... On weekends smaller areas are more exciting than big cities... Big cities are great for ANYTIME action.. but I know from experiance that rural areas are more fun to monitor during fire seasons.. and on weekends.

Example-

In the last three days while I was sick with food poisioning.. I have listened to at least 10 grass/forest fires that were rather interesting in thier scope...If we go a few days without a rain shower here this time of year.. one spark.. 100 acres gone! Needless to say I would love to have been able to respond to one of them since it would have meant me on my 4 Wheeler having a blast on offroad backwoods trails that the big guys couldn't do till the Forestry Dozers got there.

Trust me there isn't a whole lot that goes on around here. Fire is mostly quiet other then all the false alarms and police is just your standard domestics and such. Once every so often something will happen like a chase but that is mostly in the middle of the night when I'm in bed. With county fire you wont hear anything after it is dispatched and they are on scene. Now when I lived north of Detroit in Rochester Hills there was always something exciting to listen too.
