• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Has anyone ever been able to successfully implement 2 ATG's on the same system having members who share some of the same Talkgroups be part of each.?

ie ATG 1 = TG,1,2,3,4,5
ATG 2 + TG 6,7,1,2, 9

I would have to double check but I think a system around here has a Police ATG and a Fire ATG on the same system. If this is the case, then, yes, it is possible.

Yes, you can do this as its dependent on the radio's programming. The actual operation of an ATG is done by the radio. All the system knows is the TG ID can operate as an ATG.

The ATG ID must be a unique ID not used for a standard TG. The way you associate an ATG with regular TGs is with the personality programming in the radio. When you create the personality you enter the ATG ID on the mail personality screen, you then go to the TG menu (sorry, my terminology is off it's been a while) and enter in the TGs hex IDs (up to 15) you want associated with the ATG from the main personality screen.

When the radio is parked on a talkgroup it looks for both the ATG ID associated with that TG's personality and the specific talkgroup the radio is parked on (in addition to scanned talkgroups which have no ATG/personality connection).

Let me know if that makes sense. Ask away if not.

Thx Wayne

I am quite familair with ATG's but can't seem to make 2 of them work, when a talkgroup has to be able to be brought into either one of them. When you set this up in SAC on the AFF table as soon as you tag the TG as an ATG it removes all TG's that were affiliated to the 1st ATG created.

I'll keep mucking with it.
