Smiths Falls Fire Department to expand dispatch services

In an effort to improve revenue across every municipal department and service, the town of Smiths Falls Fire Department is pursuing fire dispatch contracts.

According to Smiths Falls Fire Chief Normand Beauchamp, his department currently dispatches three calls a day but has the capacity to handle up to 12 calls a day. So the chief is pursuing and bidding on new contracts to improve his department’s revenues.

Hmmm, interesting... I wonder if the frequencies are still the same? I have a cottage on Boshkung Lake and I have in the past programmed the Fire dispatch & services on my portable scanner...
