I was just watching a 707 on final to the San Antonio airport when a commutor jet received instructions to turn in behind it. The 707 had the old lowbypass turbo fans leaving the classic black trail behind it. The pilot of the commutor said "I'm right behind smokey". The tower laughed and said "we were just discussing that!". When the 707 had finished his rollout the tower gave instructions on the ramp to exit on and switch to ground. The 707 pilot responded by just keying up and said "smokey". It was good for a lunchtime laugh!
