Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) was granted a 4-site, 3-channel simulcast trunked radio system license. This will replace the VHF analog system they have set up for their hydro-electric operations in the mountains. This is seperate from their 800 MHz TRS in the valley. The VHF system is licensed for both P25 and DMR, so unknown which way they'll go yet.
