I have not had the scanner on much since the switch to Encryption... I was thinking Snohomish County Fire would still be available to listen to, but I am not hearing anything. I imported the latest System info from RR into BCTools but not sure I am picking the correct System for Sno911.

Which Motorola System should I use.... P25 Standard, Type 1, Type 2....??

Thank you!

Motorola Type 2 is what you would have set for the old system. Motorola P25 Standard is now the correct choice.

It would help to know what scanner you're using. You might not even be using something that is TDMA capable, which would cause you to hear absolutely nothing.

If you're using something other than an SDS100/200, a Unication, or an SDR paired with DSDPlus FastLane or SDRTrunk, you probably wont hear much either. The simulcast here is pretty unforgiving and might as well make listening with anything besides those mentioned above impossible.

Thank you, super helpful.... Not what I wanted to hear but makes sense.

Scanners here are the BCD996T, BCD396T, BC346T, and BCT15. Looks like I will be in the market for a new radio.

Anyone in the market for some older radios? :)

None of those scanners are capable of decoding the new P25 Phase 2 trunked system. Sno911 Trunking System, Snohomish County, Washington Law enforcement is totally encrypted and cannot be received by any scanner. Fire and EMS are open to receive. You may want to keep the older scanners for air, marine, railroads and any other conventional frequencies. What is your city or town? Do you have the Uniden Sentinel software? http://info.uniden.com/UnidenMan4/BCDx36HPSentinel
