I didn't see anything specifically for the Snohomish County jail or corrections in the database so was wondering if anyone could provide some info about their communications system. I may just not be familiar with what it is actually called. Thanks.

It appears most of the county is on the Snohomish County Public Safety (SERS) Motorola Type II system. Looking at the database, the majority of TGs are not encrypted, but the system is simulcast and you may have issues receiving it. That said, while jail ops are not listed, I would try doing a wildcard search in your scanner and see what you find. To do this enter all TGs from the system, but in the scanlist only enter a wildcard to scan, see what you find.

Hopefully someone local will have a better answer for you.

TGID 1872 on SERS radio system will get you close.
It's the SCSO Courthouse Marshalls.
They have there own dispatch and are X-Ray units on the radio.

EDIT. A bit more is coming back to my memory. Every so often a "john" unit will be heard on the radio. Which is a jail person. I think I mostly heard them on the 1872 TG but can't be certain.

I hear the Snohomish County Jail "John" units on SCSO North (1712) for the most part, on which they will (usually) report to dispatch a prisoner transport.
Ex: "3-John-56 is in service, transporting one inmate from county jail to providence. Beginning mileage is xx." or vice versa. After transport (when arriving back at the jail), they will typically announce that they are out of service.

So I do not believe they use SERS for day-to-day operations over in the jail. From a quick frequency search, I found a trunked 800MHz license located right on top of the jail, so there may be a chance they have their own trunked 800MHz system for jail communication. I unfortunately am not close enough to the jail to verify.

I used to work as a jailer in the Sno. Co. jail for a couple years but it was about 35 tears ago now so I would bet much has changed.
We all had handhelds and we had a dispatcher that was inside the jail all just for us, no other traffic. I remember seeing something specific for the jail several years ago in the RR database but as I recall it was digital and I didn't have a digital scanner so didn't bother with it.

BTW, other than working in booking on a Friday or Saturday evening, it was a painfully boring job. Days seemed like weeks!
Not recommended!!
