Ok this is what i have programmed for freqs for the snohomish county system.

866.2625 SNOHOM. TRS.
866.7750 SNOHOM. TRS.
866.8000 SNOHOM. TRS.
866.8250 SNOHOM. TRS.
867.1750 SNOHOM. TRS
867.2000 SNOHOM. TRS.
867.4125 SNOHOM. TRS.
867.9375 SNOHOM. TRS.
868.3375 SNOHOM.TRS
151.8650 SNOHOM. TRS.
867.6750 SNOHOM. TRS.
868.3625 SNOHOM. TRS.
868.3875 SNOHOM. TRS.
868.5875 SNOHOM. TRS.
868.6125 SNOHOM. TRS.
868.7500 SNOHOM. TRS.
868.9250 SNOHOM. TRS.

The 2 systems East/West is split with a conventional freq. I have this exact same setup in my RS pro-97 with the 800 MHZ antenna and it recieves just fine in my house here in woodinville. I have this same setup in my BC780xlt scanner hooked up to an outdoor antenna on my deck ( 3rd floor condo) and I get nothing from this system not a peep of a control channel nothing! its so annoying.. How is this even possible? is there possibly something on my BC780 that i have setup wrong or something that is keeping this system from recieving? Would like to have it in both scanners. Not sure why it wouldn't work especially with an outdoor antenna? any help...

If you're not hearing the control channel with your outdoor antenna, eliminate the obvious - use an indoor antenna - even a little stick antenna that comes with most scanners - and see if you can hear it then. If you can, the fault is in your outdoor antenna. If not, move the scanner around - even a couple of inches will make a difference. Put your PRO-97 on the outdoor antenna and see what happens. 73s Mike

Have tried that, it works fine with the Pro-97. It also works great on all the other trunked and conventional freqs i have programmed. for some reason the control channels for that system in my BC780 are not properly working. Its as if they are wrong or non existant. i have tried many different set ups as far as freqs and control channels go. Not sure what to do next other than give up listening to them on my home set up. just have to listen with the Pro-97 i suppose..

It sounds like the poor old 780 needs some attention at Uniden - maybe a blown RF amp (not too surprising in a radio that old). But before we go there- do you have the East and West systems in the same bank? AFAIK Uniden firmware can't deal with that in the 780, even with a conventional freq in between. I do believe some RS scanners can.

If you can't hear the control channels at all - even with the systems in seperate banks - on the outdoor antenna, while the PRO-97 can (when it's using the outdoor antenna) then it's likely time for a little shipping. Unless perhaps you have the ATTenuator on by mistake? (Don't laugh, I've done it myself...) Or another one - having locked out the control channel? (just trying to eliminate the obvious)
