Can anyone give me a listing of what police, fire and EMS frequencies are active in these two counties? I live in Perry County and have had them programmed to listen to while on the road. I know for sure that I have heard traffic on the following:

Snyder:
151.040 fire/EMS dispatch
155.370 police dispatch (I seem to recall hearing traffic on here, but none so far in the last few hours)

Northumberland:
46.50 fire dispatch
462.975 EMS dispatch (coal region area) on and off static probably due to distance
462.950 EMS dispatch (Sunbury area) on and off static probably due to distance
155.415 police dispatch (Sunbury area)

Thanks in advance.

Snyder - Fire 1 151.040 is still active. Its on a repeater. I hear it here in Juniata County.
Never tried Snyder PD but that's what is listed in the RRDB.
Northumberland Med 9 still works, I also hear them in Juniata County
As for the others I'm unsure

OK, thanks. After posting this, I started getting hits on Snyder County police dispatch, so that is also confirmed.

P.S.,

Do I have all of the active frequencies for Juniata County? I have the following:

453.4125 Fire/EMS dispatch
462.950 Med 9
39.42 Police and Sheriff

Are they all active? I know I have heard traffic on Med 9, but I thought 453.4125 was the new fire/EMS dispatch frequency. I don't think I have ever heard anything on 39.42.

453.4125 is our Fire/EMS Dispatch frequency. I've heard that the transmitters for this frequency, on all 3 tower sites don't have much output power. (Unsure how much/exactly that they put out) But we are planning to go to simulcast on this frequency sometime in the future. I don't know what that will do, if anything, to the output power. Right now our Med 9 is simulcast with our dispatch frequency. You will hear county to ambulance etc. The only thing you won't hear on Med 9 is tones. And the thing you'll hear on paging is tones at county talking. Med 9 will be gone once our digital system is in place. (To be April/May 2014) And with this new system all units will respond on 453.4125 and immediately go to the assigned digital channel.

39.420 is still used for Juniata PD. It's basically dead though. There is only the local sheriffs dept., Mifflin/Mifflintown Brorough Police and Juniata county Probation

OK, thanks for the info! I will keep monitoring. Med 9 comes in fine if I recall. But I can't remember the last time I heard anything on the Fire/EMS freq.

453.2875 PL 156.7 is active for Snyder County. It is the EMS channel. There are no dispatch tones or announcements, but most often EMS will respond, get patient info, and converse unit to unit on this frequency. It works on a repeater.

453.6000 103.5

Last I checked 453.6000 103.5 is the active dispatch for the eastern Northumberland County police departments (Shamokin and surrounding areas). 155.4150 103.5 is the western county PDs (Sunbury area). Both are fairly active --for rural PA ;-)

portroyalbirdy,

Are they dispatching fire and EMS on 453.4125? I have heard tones on it, but then nothing. I am hearing dispatches on your Med-9.

lobo, I am in Perry County, so I will likely only be able to hear the Sunbury area frequencies in Northumberland County. In fact, that is all I have programmed for Northumberland (155.415 (CTCSS 103.5) for PD and 462.950 (CTCSS 141.3) for EMS. For Snyder, I so have 155.370 (CTCSS 156.7) for PD and 151.040 (CTCSS 156.7) for fire/EMS and hear them just fine.

Juniata's database is updated and correct. Med 9 is NOT being phased out any time soon. Juniata has not acquired EMS digital frequencies yet.

Snyder County's database is correct as well.
