CLRMN....huge trunked system in CT. You will need a P25 scanner to listen. Used by state police, municipal and countywide fire/ems, Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, DEEP, National Guard, Capitol Police, UConn Campus Police, Department of Corrections, US Marshals....to name a few

Might also want to listen to ham radio bands. Ham operators can communicate with just a battery and antenna. Nothing else needed to talk to anywhere needed.

SHTF can mean anything , hurricane, tornado, ice storm blizzard, flooding, riots, third world war.and on and on. Might be listening to public works to local first responders depends on what happens.

If I still have power-anything I can get info from, if I'm running off of battery power just my local pd, state police, local fire depts, and public works/utilities.
