how does the connect tone work on trunked systems do you have to program that or leave it be since i have an analog scanner we will use Arlington, VA which im still close to and its an analog system and not digital

Eric, the connect tone has nothing to do with scanning. It is how the individual radios in the trunked system connect to the control channel.
