I've been playing around with my BCD996XT in an attempt to get Luke Fire & Rescue. So far I've had no luck. I have the following settings :

System: Mot Type II/ P25
Site: Mot P25
Freq: 408.9625
409.3625
409.5625
410.1625
Group: 40464 - Dispatch
40448 - Crash
40528 - Structure
40560 - EMS
40576 - Training
41600 - Hospital

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong. BTW - I'm at 11th Ave & Olive with an inside antenna.
Thanks for any help!!

Luke

When you set everything up there should have been a place where you could edit the band plan thenadd the following info. Then you will hear Luke.
Custom Frequency Tables

Base Spacing Offset
406.0000 12.5 380

This is new to me, where do I find this for Phoenix? I've never set the band plan.

re: LAFB

Hooked up my 996T (don't know if xt works the same?) to the puter and am using PSREedit software.
Made two scanlists (for comparison).

Scanlist #7 uses:

Maricopa County, Arizona (AZ) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference
Luke Air Force Base (down near the bottom of the page)

and with PSREdit the following are imported directly into scanlist 7:

Aviation - Air Traffic Control
F-16 Fighter Squadron
Flight Operations

(36 conventional freqeuncies)

Scanlist #11 uses:

Maricopa County, Arizona (AZ) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference
Luke Air Force Base Motorola Type II Smartnet
(down near the bottom of the page)

and with PSREdit the following are imported directly into scanlist 7:

The entire system

(multilpe CCs and 37 TGs)

Amazing reception from both scanlists.

#7 is picking up mostly Commercial Airliner activity as they pass near the base and check in (that's what it sounds like to me anyway).

#11 is picking up actual base traffic. They are still making landings and takeoffs after dark (not many).

Most interesting:

Fuel Truck to Ground Control asking for permission to taxi to a "F-18" at a coded location.

Ground Control comes back chuckling and says "don't you mean a F-16?"

Fuel Truck laughs and yells "No! It's a F-18, a NAVY plane."

Sounded like the fuel guy had been planning that one all day.

Reception of the #11 tower, fuel trucks, and other on-base transmissions are coming in better than the Phx PD (maybe no surprise) but also better than the aircraft answering back to the tower (that's a new wrinkle for me).

I bet you could copy this stuff from Apache Junction!

I'm near I-17 and Bell road.

And for anyone who might be interested, signal strength on #11 above is 4 bars. Never goes to 5, never drops to three. The Big T stays on unless an actual transmission is in progress. It has not flickered on-off for twenty minutes, at least. Am indoors with a 18" mag/whip. Never heard of such a thing! Phoenix should go out to Luke and see their set-up.

Why should Phoenix go see Luke's setup? BTW 18" magnet mount whip antenna for UHF and 800? Why???
